Student Work – Design and Problem Solving in Technology

Student Work - Design and Problem Solving in Technology

During my time spent student teaching at William Annin Middle School, I taught a 30 day course for 6th graders on Design and Problem Solving. I wrote and implemented a 4 week unit on electricity where students learned about different types of circuits, and about schematic symbols. The course ended with students designing their own circuit and lantern, assembling their circuit, soldering the connections, and answering a series of conclusion questions to test their knowledge and understanding of the content covered.

Sounds like a great way to incorporate creativity and arts/crafts! I loved doing things like this in junior high, learning while having fun.
